Cassandra needs your suggestions!!

Cassandra sent this out today to her google group and we wanted to share this with everyone, with Cassandra's permission. It's pretty cool!!

So the company doing the graphic novels for the Mortal Instruments series is currently working on character designs, and they've asked me for wardrobe suggestions. They want to come up with clothes that each character would wear and they'd love it if I could give them links to clothes or outfits online that seem appropriate. I thought I'd have some fun by throwing the question out to the group — ever seen a jacket that seemed perfect for Jace? A t-shirt right for Simon? An Armani suit that Valentine would surely wear?

Suggestions appreciated!

More deleted COG scenes

Thank you Cassandra for giving us our early holiday presents! These deleted scenes are amazing!

Maryse doesn’t get to talk to Clary much in the final version of Glass, but in this earlier draft they did get to talk a little about Jace and whether he’s really a Wayland.

Clary quickly lost track of the number of Marks she’d drawn. Most of the Shadowhunters ascending the steps and offering up their arms or hands for Marking were strangers to her — though some greeted her mother — and accepted the runes she doled out in a stoic silence. Or maybe it wasn’t stoicism, she thought, maybe they just had nothing to say to Valentine’s obviously crazy daughter.
Once Marked, they would roll their sleeves back up and silently make their way to the doors of the Hall, vanishing inside. No one came back out, and though Clary knew that this was due to the presence of the Portal inside, something about it still made her nervous. The city was being drained of its Shadowhunters — soon there would be no one left except the Nephilim who were under eighteen.

Books To Look Forward To In 2010

Sea by Heidi Kling

Released on June 10th 2010 and here is the blurb for all you crazy cats

Haunted by recurring nightmares since her mother's accidental disappearance over the Indian ocean three years before, fifteen year old California girl Sienna "Sea" Jones reluctantly travels with her father's volunteer team to six months post-tsunami Indonesia. During her stay at the orphanage, she meets scarred and soulful Deni who is more like Sea than anyone she has ever met.

She knows they can't be together, so why can't she stay away from him? And what about her old-best-friend-turned-suddenly-hot Spider who may or may not be waiting for her back home? And why is her psychiatrist father so secretive about her mother's plane crash? The farther she gets from home, the closer she comes to the truth. And Sea's real adventure begins.

The Mark by Jen Nadol

That cover is amazing, right??

Released Janruary 19th 2010

Here is the blurb for you all:-

Sixteen-year old Cassie Renfield has seen the mark since forever: a glow around certain people as if a candle were held behind their back.

The one time she pointed it out taught her not to do it again, so Cassie has kept quiet, considering its rare appearances odd, but insignificant. Until the day she watches a man die. Mining her memories, Cassie realizes she can see a person's imminent death. Not how or where, only when: today.

Cassie searches her past, her philosophy lessons, even her new boyfriend for answers, always careful to hide her secret. How does the mark work? Why her?

Most importantly, if you know today is someone's last, should you tell?

You can view Jen's website here and also read an excerpt of The Mark, how cool is that!!!

Amazing Mortal Instruments Artwork by Kathy Coleman

We're thrilled to have an amazing artist as a member of our site. Kathy Coleman has some very amazing artwork of the MI series.
Here's two of her pictures-

Sebastian:

This picture captures Sebastian so well. He's so ruthless, and so evil, yet he can look so innocent and almost angelic.

Jace, Alec and Isabelle:

This is a great picture of the three of them.

You can see more of her work here:
